The meeting between Vittorio Emanuele, in front, and Garibaldi in Teano 1860. The text refers to the complicated relationship between Garibaldi on one hand and Vittorio Emanuele II and the Italian state on the other.
1821 was the start of the military resistance against the Austrian domination. In 1870 Rome was proclaimed capital of the Italian Kingdom.
