Young man watering the winged horse of Apollo at a spring with the inscription "Juturnai sacrum".

According to the myth the spring of Juturna in Forum Romanum was the oldest and most important of Rome’s ancient fountains. The Dioskuri Castor and Pollux, the twin sons of Jupiter, watered their horses at the spring, when they brought the news of the Roman victory over the Latins at Lake Regillus in 496 BC.
According to the tradition the Romans erected a temple of Castor and Pollux beside the fountain shortly after.
