The name "Istituto Nastro Azzuro" (The organisation of the blue ribbon) derives from the blue ribbon of the war medals, and it was also the dynastic colour of the Italian Royal house. The blue colour is also used by the Italian football team "Azzuri" and in the ribbons of the officers of the Italian army.
